Approach to counseling sessions

The goals of counseling services are to help you find balance in life, to restore healthy relationship patterns, and to provide emotional stability. All counseling services begin with an introductory session to discuss what you want to change. Together we identify your concerns and develop a strategy on how to resolve each one, including tools like practical take home assignments and in session techniques.

Sheri’s approach includes a healthy lifestyle along with non-medical intervention when possible. At times, techniques such as EFT tapping or EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing) may be used to facilitate healing for anxiety, managing big emotions, or recovery from pain and trauma. Internal Family Systems (IFS) is beneficial in counseling, in which Sheri helps you identify the various parts of yourself and how to lead from a strong, core self.

“I support speaking truth with love and respect in relationships and being accountable for your life and personal growth,” Sheri says. “And I like to have fun, laugh and help clients to enjoy their life.”

Hear from Sheri’s clients

“I am so thankful we found you. You have turned our whole family around. I don’t know what we would have done without you.”  -PM

“I have been to 4 other counselors before. I never really felt like I got to the bottom of what is wrong. You helped me understand what is going on and I feel like I can see the light again.” –CS

“Thank you for helping us get our son back. I was so afraid we lost him. Now I can see the real him again—only he is so much better now.” –CT

“I have been to counselors for years, but the tools you use got to the root of my problem and freed me up. It was amazing! All the years of talk therapy can’t compare to our sessions with EMDR and Brainspotting.”   -DK
